Central Bank interest rate and inflation in Russia: 1991-2023

The Central Bank (CB) interest rate and inflation in Russia after the collapse of the USSR experienced significant fluctuations. The monthly median from January 1991 to April 2023 for the annual CB interest rate is 12.4%, while the annual inflation is 11.9%.

The highest figures were observed in the early 1990s when the CB interest rate exceeded 200% and inflation reached 2500%. The lowest values were 2.2% for inflation in 2018 and 4.3% for the CB interest rate in 2020-2021.
